What is the Process?
Individual Intake Meeting
Before we get to the joint session, you will have a confidential, individual meeting where the FDR process is explained, a background obtained, the issues clarified and a plan of potential actions discussed. Valerie will not lead you to FDR or mediation if she believes your situation is better suited to an alternative process.
The joint FDR session
This is where we all meet, either in the same or different rooms for between four hours to up an entire day for legally assisted or complex matters. Here you will be guided to a place where you are comfortable to voice what you need to achieve in order to move forward and what the obstacles are in the way of achieving this. Agreements are documented on the whiteboard.
Post-session
A Parenting Agreement and/or Financial Heads of Agreement is later produced, which can be turned into a Parenting Plan if signed, or made into Consent Orders with your lawyers help. Valerie can also issue 60I Certificates in the case of parenting matters. For multiple or complex issues, sometimes more than one session is required, especially when both parenting and financial concerns need discussing.
Fees
Different services can attract different fees, so please contact Valerie for her fixed fee schedule. Once Valerie has spoken with you and understands your unique situation and the complexity of your matter she will be better informed to advice you on the number of hours she will need to guide you to resolution.
